lianne JEDEIKIN GOLDSMITH

Biography

Originally from Zimbabwe, Lianne has lived in Los Angeles for the past 37 years. Her artistic practice is a continuing journey that has explored colonialism and culture, while her current work examines the conversation between aging and desire.

For the past nine years, Lianne has studied under Rembrandt scholar Zhenya Gershman, focusing on portraiture, life drawing, art history, and traditional media, including oil, pastel, and charcoal. Her ongoing training also encompasses large-scale painting and the continued development of her technical and conceptual practice. While she has not pursued a formal institutional art degree, she regards this sustained and rigorous course of study as equivalent to an intensive undergraduate fine arts education and is now undertaking work at a postgraduate level.
