La Chimere, or “Illusion”, is a depiction of the aftermath of the Great Heist from the Louvre which occurred on October 19, 2025 in Paris. I will submit a separate Artist’s statement, but the painting depicts the contradiction between the security forces and a beautifully dressed young man, captured in a photo and inviting the viewer to dig deeper into each parties perspective.
